Melomed Hospital Mitchells Plain is ******

Melomed Private Hospital in Mitchells Plain has to be the most ****** hospital we have ever had to deal with in times of need and frustration they frustrate us even worse. In 2020, we experienced the similar ****** treatment as we are experiencing this evening with regards to having my mother admitted at the hospital. Instead of explaining when my mother arrived that they no longer have the facility for patients with her illness instead some Dr Abraham who was aggressive and unprofessional told us they "do not take these kinds of patients, they have to be destabilised in a public hospital" and told another Dr Mutambu the same thing who then reported at Vincent Palloti Hospital, where my mother could have been admitted, that she is aggressive, which made Vincent Palloti Hospital refuse to admit her based on these two doctor's misinformation.

How can this Dr Abraham refer to my mother as "these kinds of patients?" Is it professional for a doctor to refer to a patient as "these kinds of patients." And why did they give misinformation to Vincent Palloti hospital that could have helped us if they cannot? This hospital's doctors and nurses conduct is very ******s and discrimanetory. They always cause us frustration in times of distress. I am so disgusted by their unprofessional conduct. They should rather make it clear that they do not welcome black people at this hospital so that we do not bother going there.

In 2020, this same hospital when we took my mother to this same hospital they insisted that we take my mother to Khayelitsha public hospital as they are doing again now even though we have a medical aid. We had to fight to get my mother admitted after some coloured nurse kept on trying to convince me to take my mother to Khayelitsha Hospital even though we have medical aid. She kept on saying my medical aid will not pay for the expenses because it is new even after explaining to her that this does not apply to my medical aid. She kept on trying to scare me that I will have to pay about R40000 bill cash. I had to explain to that nurse numerous times that my medical aid will pay regardless of it being new and that my mother will not be taken to any public hospital.

They do not want black people at Melomed Private Hospital in Mitchells Plain. They are only happy to help couloured/muslim people. It seems when it is a black person they have to come with excuses why they should not be admitted there and that they should rather go to a public hospital. They look down upon black people because they do not see them as deserving and affording private care hospital.
