Filthy Hospitals

Last year in the afternoon, I had to get to a hospital in a hurry. I called uber taxi and arrived at the emergency to await my turn. As it was so filthy I took a few photos. There was blood on the floor. A total shambles of staff was so depressing.that I decided it was safer for me to get out quickly. When I got to the street waiting for a taxi I was grabbed by a couple of staff and persuaded to return to the slaughterhouse. After a while in bed in the emergency where it was really frightening, I eventually arrived in a four bed ward. No doctor or medical service apart from a blood sample. The next day after breakfast, a female doctor/consultant arrived at the foot of my bed, and this is how the conversation went. Holding the board on the table at the end of my bed "Ah I see you have multiple myolema(something similar) ME:"No i don't" Well I'm not sure. Oh i see you are anemic. I know you we met in Johannesburg" ME: "No we didn't" "Well it must have been Pretoria" ME: "No it wasn't". Still at the foot of the bed "Well see you tomorrow". My fellow patients and I chatted and we got to know each other. I was surprised that they had not noticed the filth all around. The cleaner made three appearances while I was awake and passed the mop over a small part of the floor. I have photographs of all the catastrophic dirt and appalling mismanagement. Used syringe on the floor next to the wheel of my bed. Layers of dust and grime on the various stands and cabinets. I even have a video of the "tea" being poured into a cup. The consultant made an appearance and said I could go home "tomorrow" from the foot of my bed. Before i left the next day I had an ECG and the terminals were left on my chest. I have a picture of what was underneath - guess what ?? Filthy squares of marks from the suction pads. No-one believes me or if they do it seems it is OK in South Africa to have filthy hospitals. I have pictures from other hospitals. Just as bad or worse. Life healthcare are just as bad and some worse than what I have described above.
