Dr Hendricks Melomed Tokai: Don't do it

I was looking for a Gynaecologist based on my medical aid scheme (Bonitas) and one of the doctors they give is Dr Hendricks at Melomed Tokai (Cape Town). I made an appointment for a time that suited me (only in a month's time) and left it. I received a call not long before my appointment saying that it has to be moved (no reason was given) and I was given a date in a month's time, for 11.40. It was an inconvenience but I worked around it. I arrived for my appointment at 11.30 and filled in the forms quickly as it was my first time. At around 11.45 a couple went in. I waited until 12.30 for the doctor to see me, despite a sign clearly displayed on the counter saying that slots are half an hour long. I was annoyed but proceeded. After requesting a pap smear and other tests I had to pay upfront, which I did and was told to claim back from medical aid, which I did. Suddenly a few days later I get a medical aid submission for R1400 from Pathcare, which was authorised by Dr Hendricks. She basically submitted my 'pap smear' test for an expensive HPV test that I had no idea of. As a newbie, she should have known better than to just push extra costs on me without my knowledge. Plus the consultation fee alone was R900 so I will definitely not bother again!
