Disgusted Security Behaviour
I have always had very good services from the Tokai hospital. I have never believed people when they complained about the poor service, Except for one occasion at the Trauma Rooms, but other than that, I always spoke highly of the services I received.
This however changed on 7 November 2020, when my wife was discharged and I had to fetch her. On arrival, as usual, I went to the screening point, when the security asked me what i was doing at the hospital. I informed them that I was called to fetch my wife, as she was discharged that morning. Immediately refused entry and was told to go wait outside in the cold, bearing in mind that it was raining over night and rain was predicted for the morning. When I asked why I can't wait in the lounge area, she told me that I must just wait outside.
Now this is where it got interesting, I noticed that some people were allowed to fetch their partners, one of them were fetched from my wife's ward. Now this is what I don't get... Am I the only chronic kidney patient that is being refused entry to fetch my wife? Now this is what puzzles me.
Why didn't Melomed follow up on this complain, as it was submitted on the exact same day, whilst I was standing there and they claimed that someone will get back to me? Why do we as patients and families have to be subjected to this kind of ill-treatment? Who would have taken responsibility if something has happened to me outside your, because your security decided that I am not allowed to enter? Not once did any of your security staff ask me why I was loitering outside your doors. Surely this kind of behaviour is unacceptable regarding the treatment your visitors and patients. Because of this kind of actions, I had to endure extreme pain in the latter part of the day, as I was subjected to the extreme cold and wet conditions that morning. I have now started the process of finding myself other specialists as I WILL NOT EVER come to Tokai, even if it's the last hospital around.
