Bad Service and Doctor

Good day,

I would like to lay a formal complaint regarding the shabby service we received at Melomed Bellville. I took my dad to the emergency room as he was in pain and lost his vision and was constantly nauseous and his limbs were numb. They gave him stuff for pain and did a scan after which we were sent home. Exactly 7 days later I took my dad back to emergency this time by wheelchair and his blood pressure was sky high. They admitted him but by this time looked like a stroke patient. On 3rd floor medical ward my dad was laying and an elderly man was laying in the bed next to him. The poor uncle did not have his bell for an emergency. It was laying on the floor the morning I was there til the evening I went back and then gave it to him. When he wanted to wee he would try to scream for a nurse and my dad with his speech impairment tried to call them as well. My dad has little function in his hands also. My mom had to call the nurses as by this time the uncle was naked holding his privates needing to pee. They didn't try to feed my dad or see to him drinking water or juice. It is like they didn't take into consideration that he had little use in his hands. My mom tried to feed my dad and she showered him. We took him a duvet and his own pillows to ensure he is warm enough. My dad had to pee in a bottle and my mom helped my dad. Visiting hours are so strict yet my dad only got proper help when we were there. The dr never informed us of what is being done next. My dad had to struggle to type on his phone to let me know he is being released. When I got there no dr was there to tell us if he had a stroke or what the MRI scan said or if my dad needs physio or what our next step is regarding my dads eyesight that was almost gone. The day before when I wanted to speak to the dr he avoided me and even put the phone down in his secretary's ear while i was in his office on 1st floor. His Dr he had was Dr Hargey. I expect this lack of service from a government hospital not from Melomed PRIVATE Hospital where people pay through their ****. My dads just been sent home with his high blood pressure and some blood pressure tablets. They aren't worried about why he lost function of his hands, can't chew, can't see yet Melomed is claiming their money from the medical aid and we will be paying in whatever the medical aid does not cover. Never again do I want to deal with that Dr or Melomed.
