Disgusting service!
For my 40th birthday on Thursday the 3rd October 2019 - my niece treated me to have my nails done at Mellisa's nail and beauty salon in Plumstead, Cape Town. On Sunday 6th October, I noticed the gel substance used to fill the bottom of the nail was starting to crack up. I contacted Melissa on Monday the 7th to inform her of this, to which she suggested I come in for her to have a look. I then went in on the evening of Tuesday 8th October, as this was when she could accommodate me. She had a look and without an explanation, proceeded to grind off the cracked gel along the sides, leaving these gel bubbles in the centre of my nails. She then got up and told her nail technician to proceed and just put a lacquer over the top again. Once this was done, my nails looked silly and I told the technician that I wasn't happy. She then said she didn't know what else to do as Melissa had already left for the day. She then suggested that because they were about to go home, as a temporary solution to put colour over the already messed up nail job until I could come back - which we did but leaving the nails looking worse. As soon as I got home, I whattsap messaged the business cell phone number ***) with the pictures of my messed up nails (17:53 - 8/10/2019). This message was only read and rep**** to at 15:28 9/10/2019 saying that they apologise but an appointment was booked for the next Friday 18/10/2019 (which was the only other available opportunity for me to go) When I arrived at the salon on Friday 18/10/2019, I was taken by the same technician that initially did my nails to where Melissa was sitting attending to another client. I explained my dilemma to a very unapologetic & defensive, Melissa who seemed to not want to even listen to what had happened and was oblivious to the messages I had sent via whattsap - saying that she didn't attend to that phone, to which I asked if she even knew what was going on in her own business. I told her that I wasn't happy that I had to pay for a fill considering it wasn't my fault, which she blatantly told me I would just have to pay. She then told me that that I didn’t have to come there again, to which I rep**** that I definitely wouldn’t and would not recommend anyone to go there in future. In anger I then told her to take the **** (in afrikaans swearing) off my nails that they had put and I was told I had to pay for the soak off – which I did. All this in front of other customers - for the record. I admit that in anger I was wrong – but I think that Melissa’s attitude and non-concern for their obvious mistake was ********* and a blatant disregard for money that was paid for a service. Something that costed in the region of R300 that only lasted for 3 days is totally unacceptable! For this bad service and utter rudeness, I will definitely not recommend or ever go back to Melissa’s nail and beauty salon in Plumstead.
