Impressed :-)

I am a Ford owner, I received an error message on my display advising that the battery in my key is low and it needs to be replaced. Yesterday i called Ford Diep River at 15:08 and explained my problem, i asked if i can bring it in quickly as well as if it needs to be booked in, to which they said no but was told me to bring it in for them to take a look at it and thats what I did. When i got there at 15:25 it was a total different story, the guy mentioned it could be a possible key replacement. I then was told that I need to book the car in because the guys are all busy finishing up cars and that it would cost +-R300 to replace the battery. Really R300? To replace a battery? Now I fully understand these guys are busy with cars the entire day but today I had a totally different experience at Mekor Ford Claremont. I called them at 13:36 and told them the same thing also asked if i need to book it in. The gentleman then rep**** and said no, I can come around and he'll check it out for me. I enquired the price and he advised R40 and I'm like WHAT??? nevertheless I went to them immediately. I was greeted by a lovely man at reception and he asked how he could help. I told him who I was looking for and he made contact with him on his cellphone because they think he just stepped out. I waited a few minutes and the gentleman appeared and asked me to follow him to the parts division. I work in Kenilworth Centre so it took me about 5 minutes to get there, he took my keys and replaced the battery in less than a minute. I asked where I could pay and he said I mustn't worry about it. Now from R300 to R40 to nothing WOW, WOW, WOW!!! and I was out there before 14:00. The gentleman that assisted me was Allie and I hope he gets recognised for this and not into trouble for not charging me. The point of the matter is that its all about CUSTOMER SERVICE, I understand that if I had maybe gone to Ford Diep River earlier it would have been a different case but it also displays how wiling you are to go that extra mile for the client. It literally felt like they just wanted me out there. I work in a Customer Service environment so I know exactly how these guys feel, the pressure of getting a job done, the frustrated clients. etc, but just how important are your clients to you that you couldn't even take 2 minutes just to assess the concern at hand and I was willing to wait a few minutes if they needed to just finish up something.FORD DIEP RIVER you have a lot to learn from MEKOR FORD CLAREMONT as far as CUSTOMER SERVICE is concerned. WELL DONE ALLIE and the CLAREMONT TEAM keep it up!
