New car experience ruined
I purchased a BRAND new Suzuki Spresso from Mekor Suzuki Tygervalley. After months of research I finally found the car I was looking for! This was suppose to be a great experience as it was my first time buying my very own car. This soon turned into a nightmare, all over something as simple as a spare key which HAS to come with the car. When I fetched the car on the 4th August 2021 the car salesman had told me they were still waiting for the spare key and I accepted this as I had no reason to doubt their service so far. Everything was perfect up until I fetched the car. After a week my number plates had arrived and when the salesman came to fit them on the car he still did not have the spare key and told me he had 'forgotten it at the office'. I was still none the wiser as I trusted him. Another week went by and the driver had come once again to fit my number plates on properly and dropped off the 'spare key'. I got home that evening and when I tested it out the key did not fit the car. Once again I had to contact the salesman and he took another week to bring me the right spare key. After about 4 weeks he brought me another spare key. We tested it and it was the WRONG key once again. All this after I had already sent him pictures of the key and the number of the key. it was still wrong. He then explained they had to order the key and it would take a week. After the week (I even waited an extra 2 days) he had not even messaged/phoned me and once again I was the one contacting him. He then said it was still not done and he did not want to contact me with 'bad news' but rather only contact me with 'good news'. I told him he had to contact me to keep me updated whether its good or bad but he still did not. Again he gave me another time frame which he did not stick to and I then decided I needed to get a manager involved. By now I have had the car for a month and a bit already with NO SPARE KEY but many empty promises. I met up with the manager who then told me the salesman was new and he will now take over and see to it that the key will be sorted. I had to also leave my car at the dealership in order for the key to be programmed which was a HUGE inconvenience. Yes they offered me a car to drive around in BUT I had just bought a brand new car and I was very anxious about just leaving it there. It took another 3 weeks after I spoke to the manager to actually get my spare key sorted. I was fed lie after lie. In the end the manager let it slip that the key was LOST from the day I received the car which NO ONE told me and clearly they were running around to fix these issues without letting me as the customer know. In other words my car was needed to program the spare key and the first 2 times my car was not even at the workshop, therefore those 2 'spare keys' were NEVER going to work. That was given to me **********ly! Which the salesman knew about. DISGUSTING! This was my issue from the start ... HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY This is a motto that this business does not understand and it is very disappointing that I had to be dragged through this whole process because of the LIES. After 2 months I received my spare key and NO full explanation as to what actually happened. To make matters worse I then also started hearing a knocking noise at the back of my brand new car when I had to break which they also needed to sort out. Can you imagine? I had all the hassles of buying a second hand car from a NEW car dealership. In LIFE both communication and honesty are key factors when it comes to just being a good person. In business I would imagine they would grow if they had those 2 things in place.
