Be warned.

We bought a “new” Mazda in 2021 from Mazda Claremont, CX5. At the time there was just 150kms on the car and it was sold as a demo model. Didn’t realise until now that demo models are sold and registered as used cars. Anyway.

In the last few months we noticed that the paint was starting to fade on the passenger doors - both front and back - which was strange. Anyway we finally decided we need to take it to Mazda as it’s still under warranty and obviously this is a defect.

Followed Mazdas warranty process which is that you take the car to a dealer, they assess if there is an issue and sent that off to Mazda who fulfills the warranty claim.

However upon taking it to the dealer we were informed that their inspection revealed that the two passenger doors of the car have been resprayed.

We have never had an accident or had work done on the vehicle. So the only explanation is that it was sold to us in this condition.

@MazdaClaremont has since admitted that work was done on the vehicle prior to us buying it to “fix a scratch”. They cannot provide us with proof - a pic of the scratch - all they going with is an invoice for R2000 from a panel shop. And we suppose to assume they now being honest after they failed to mention this when we bought the car.

The spray work doesn’t align with a scratch being fixed and upon further inspection of the doors we found that even the windows are not fixed properly.

I have tried to deal with Mazda Claremont and get this resolved but Grant has now resorted to ignoring my messages.
