MegaMaster - ******* quality
I purchased a Heritage 900 stainless steel braai from Builders Warehouse in Riverhorse Durban. My first fire in this braai caused it to warp so badly that the grid will not fit on it. I was showing off my braai to all my guests only to find that it will let will back fire on me. I sent pics of the poor quality product to Bella, only to be told that it is imported from China....Telling me that it is poor quality, that was manufactured in China. Bella asked me to take the unit back to were i purchased it from if i didn't want it anymore. I am really disappointed that i was given this pathetic solution from Bella. I asked to have the unit swapped for a better quality one and i would pay the difference. Bella insisted that i take it back to the store that i purchased it from and that is all she can do. I live in Estcourt and it is almost a 5 hour return drive to and from Durban. I am really disgusted that Megamaster admits to selling poor quality imported products. This will be the last time i buy a product with a megamaster label. This braai costs in the region of just under R3000.00

This is not something that we would like our customers to experience at all. You can be rest assure that our aim is to deliver good quality products. For we have our own factory in China, that manufactures our products. Because of high demand, there is always a possibility for faulty products. We also tried to amend by offering you a 1000 Deluxe braai at our warehouse sale price. But was unsuccessful.
Hope that you will consider our products in the future again, and experience Megamaster as many other satisfied clients do.

This is the problem we have in South Africa. Companies like MegaMaster knowingly sell inferior quality products in the hope that when we buy it and it is defective, we just shut up and accept it. Why should we just accept it. Don't you have quality checks on your product. I also have products manufactured in China and Europe, but every product goes through a very high quality check. Nothing gets sold if there is a slight defect. You guys miss the point here. Because of your poor quality product i have to now make a 5 hour return trip to return the poor warped Megamaster product. Why should i have to pay for the return, when you very clearly accept that it was a defective product. You should pick up your poor, pathetic quality product from me. An apology does not fix the problem. Did you even see the images of how badly it warped that the grid will not fit on it and it warped to a degree that the red hot coals could injure or kill someone.

We pride ourselves in high quality products, and do have multiple quality control processes in place. We can guarantee that this is an exception to the rule and will definitely investigate this incident with our factory and QC teams. In order for us to provide customers with fast and convenient solutions, we work closely with our retail partners. In this manner we are able to provide replacement stock immediately as the retailers keep bulk stock. This also provides us with the ability to track stock effectively to investigate any stock queries according to batches the stock was distributed in. Once again we do apologise for the inconvenience. 21 Aug 2023, 09:00Your apologies are not good enough. I returned the "*******" product on Saturday morning to Builders Riverhorse. I met a gentleman at the store that was very curious about my return. He was in the process of purchasing the sample product. When i explained to him whta ******* this product was, he changed his mind and didn't take anything. Whilst we were chatting another white gentleman pulled out a little magnet that was attached to his a key ring. He showed us that the megamaster products that were advertised as stainless steel was actually galvanized mild steel. The magnet stuck to the new stainless steel unit as well as the one I was returning. Actually it stuck to all the megamaster products that has stainless steel labels including the grids that were supposed to be stainless steel. How pathetic is this???? Megamaster are ******* as far as i am concerned. I will be contacting the consumer council of South Africa with all my concerns and proof at hand
