I write in a state of righteous fury so volcanic it could re-open the San Andreas Fault. Your company has managed to turn a straightforward 1 400 km furniture relocation into a 12-day odyssey of broken promises, evaporated communication, soggy belongings and unbudgeted expenses that would make even a budget airline blush. Let me remind you—because you seem to require frequent reminding—what “service” means: you take money, you do what you said you would do, and you keep the customer informed. Mega Shift Logistics has instead perfected the reverse: take money, vanish, reappear only to invent new charges, and finally deliver wet goods with the cheerful nonchalance of a cat presenting a dead mouse.
Chronology of Disgrace 1. 27 July – Collection in Cape Town. Dakalo swore on whatever passes for her professional honour that delivery would occur 30 July. 2. 30 July – Dakalo activated Witness-Protection-Level *****th mode: calls ignored, WhatsApp blueticks me, receptionists robotically reciting “in a meeting / on another call”. When she finally emerged, she hurled Tendai’s number at me like a live grenade and promptly dived back underground. 3. Tendai announced the truck would only leave Cape Town on 3 July. No proactive notice, no apology, just an after-the-fact shrug. 4. Friday 4 August – radio silence. Rain apparently paralysed a truck; apparently also paralysed every phone in your office. The result: my family of five spent FIVE NIGHTS on bare floors, burning R400–R500 daily on take-aways because my fridge, pots and plates were held hostage by your ineptitude. 5. Monday 7 August – “Surprise! We’re outside with a 30-ton articulated monster that your complex forbids.” Solution proposed by Tendai: pay R1 500 for a shuttle, LIKE WHAT THE HELL???? 6. After another night on the floor, goods arrived 8 August. Two sealed boxes were mysteriously OPEN and WET — SURPRISE, the television simply forgotten in Cape Town. Tendai's helpful explanation: “You didn’t seal the boxes properly.” Sir, I could strap those boxes to the outside of a submarine and they would stay drier than they did under your care. 7. TV finally surfaces 14 August, delivery promised 15 August—because apparently calendars are optional at Mega Shift.
Collateral Damage • R2 500+ in unplanned food and accommodation costs. • Five nights of back-breaking floor-sleeping. • Wet goods and opened boxes • A stress level that my cardiologist will bill you for.
Your Conduct Summed Up Payment received? Check. Customer ghosted? Check. Excuses manufactured? Check. Extra fees invented? Check. Goods wet and partially amnesiac? Double check.
The only bright specks in this saga were the actual collection and delivery crews in Cape Town and Johannesburg—polite, diligent human beings tragically employed by an outfit that treats customers like an inconvenience between invoices.
Stay away from this company
