DEFECT IN A MEERKAT CAMPING CHAIR

I have bought a Meerkat camping chair through Takealot about 2 years ago and it was only used twice before the latest incident happened when the handle broke when I got up from the chair. I took the chair to Meerkat as it is a defect in their product. You can clearly see that the weakest point is where the pin goes through the metal. They referred me to Takealot who told me that the chair is only guaranteed for 6 months and therefore they can not pass a credit. I then went back to Meerkat who said they will take the matter up with Takealot. I followed up several times with Meerkat who agreed that this matter must be taken up with the CEO of Meerkat. He referred me back to Takealot. I feel that Meerkat is using Takealot as a scapegoat and do not admit liability for the defect in their product. For a company of their stature I feel that I have been prejudiced and sit with a broken chair and expect them to replace my chair.
