Meerendal Estate Bossa….. never ever ever again!!!

I’ve experience better service and dining in a shebeen in an informal settlement in Khayelitsha!!!!!! From the moment you walk through the door everything and anything can go wrong. We went there on a Sunday afternoon. They didn’t explain that they are 3 waitrons short that day so service will be poor - I would have gone somewhere else if this was communicated. We waited 40 minutes for them to take a drinks order. We ordered cappuccinos….waited 20 minutes….when they arrived they were ice cold!!! We asked for sweetener. It took another 20 minutes for that to arrive, and we ended up drinking ice cold coffee with sugar. We ordered food. My wife’s steak was well done, not medium rare. Mine was also overcooked and not medium rare. I ordered a peppercorn sauce with my steak, but ended up getting mushroom sauce. I got a kiddies portion of chips too. My mother-in-laws burger was over cooked and charred, my father-in-law got the hardest eisbein ever made. I ordered a glass of Merlot….it came in the dirtiest glass imaginable!!!!

Overall a terrible experience….avoid this place like a leper colony!!!!!
