What gapcover? legligence of an medway consultant.

Good day. I took out gap cover from Medway almost a year ago. From the 1st of June 2016 I was registered. The consultant that I worked through from Medway's name was Strati Moutzouris. I took out the gap cover, because I'm a teacher at a Primary School here in a small town called Vryheid. I do have Medical aid (Gems) but I knew that doctors in hospitals always charge double the normal fee. So I took out Medway's gap cover for should something like that occur. My wife fell pregnant on 18 of August 2016, at numurous times I asked the consultant (Strati), if Medway was going to cover all of the costs in the hospital for my wife with the delivery of our first baby. Otherwise I should have started saving money. His reply was that yes, Medway will cover all of the costs( I have the Whatsapp's to prove it). After the birth of our newborn, I handed in all the neccessary documents as well as the in-hospital accounts outstanding(This was a time consuming and a long process). Eventually all final admin was done and the waiting started. Three Months later, we recieve a phone call from the Doctors (Gynie) office, telling us we have 2 weeks to pay the outstanding money otherwise we will hear from their Attorneys. It was a big shock, because we thought that Medway would take care of this. So, I phoned the consultant, explaining to him the news and that another consultant phoned me and told me that they can't pay out the money because we are not registered for longer then a year. So Strati advised me that this is not true I don't have to worry about a thing. Nowhere in any contract that I signed did it stipulate that I must be registered on Medway for more than a year for the money to pay out, the consultant said 3 Months. The Consultant then said that he will write a letter to the director to explain to him everything that has happened and that I don't have to worry about a thing. So I waited for 2 days - he eventually phoned me and said that they will only pay some of the money and that it will take a while and there is a R10 000 hospital fee that I have to pay....the total amount that was suppose to be paid was R30 000 from their side. In the meanwhile I asked him just to phone the doctors office and explain to them from their side the whole process and that we are busy sorting it out. He assured me that he will do that( This was on the 25/07/17). I phoned the doctors office on (28/07/17) just to make sure that he has phoned and explained why the money is taking so long. I phoned and the secretary said that he has not phoned yet. In the meantime we've paid R6000 out of our savings just to cover some of the costs and make sure that they won't report us, because I don't want to get a bad name and reputation. I've phoned this particular consultant twice that day and he never answered his phone 28/07/17. On the 01/08/17 Ive spoken to Lecia about the situation and apparently Strati the consultant, never told me that I was covered. So he ****, without knowing that I have the whatsapp's to back my case. I think this matter should be resolved within your company, because of the fact that he is one of your employees. Regards Thomas Potgieter **********
