Worst Medical Aid Scheme

This is the worst medical aid I've ever joined in my 16 years of having medical aid. Covid came with some challenges and I had to downgrade certain thing and moving to medshield seemed like a great option at the time ☹️

After an ER admission in September 2023 was pre-approved surgical procedure to fix the problem. Because I am on a lower plan I expected a shortfall of some sort but not being liable for most of the bill - not even 50%.

I am sooooo disappointed and regret the day I joined Medshield.

The ER admissions and surgical procedure amounted to R35,875 and medshield only covered R15,017.

Now I have to cancel the medical aid (which covered me and my 8year old child) so that I can at least use that money to pay for these outstanding fees that I can not afford.

I am heartbroken to say the least. I will never recommend this scheme to anyone.
