Why am I paying whilst waiting for 3 months

I recently added my son onto my medical aid, he recently turned 4 months and I had moved him from his grandmothers (my mother) medical aid. The process for him to be changed over to my medical aid was pretty smooth and seamless as we received communication as well as the card pretty timelessly which was a relief for my wife and I.<br> <br> It was until yesterday when my son fell sick which obviously meant we needed to take him to the paediatrician and the chemist to get his meds. I paid cash for the consult and would then naturally use my medical aid card for his meds as I have a day to day available to \us"";why make them wait 3 MONTHS and why make me pay whilst I am waiting?
