Waiting period

So I was told my kids (4&7 yrs)who have never spent a single day without a medical aid since birth are on a 3 months waiting period. I phoned for clarity and one of the consultants said Medshield imposed the waiting period because they can and have the right to... really? my kids don't hv a right to medications? to a healthcare that I pay for? what exactly am I paying for? previously they were on discovery but had to move to medshield due to their dad's change of employment. before discovery they were on medshield and there was no waiting period stories...the oldest spent 5rs on discovery prior to joining medshield for the first time in 2016 . If u thinking of leaving ur medical aid scheme for medshield think twice, because u will get a trash of service.
