Unexceptable authorization Period

Bad service - I have been with Medshield for 10 years with no problems until now. My husband got approved as a beneficiary on the 26 of Jan ‘19 with a 3 month waiting period which ended on the 30th of April’19. He got diagnosed with diverticulitis on 28 Feb ‘19 as he got admitted into Baragwanath a month after being excepted as a member where they did a CT scan. Yesterday he had a flair up so today he went to the GP who sent him to hospital to be admitted for a colonoscopy but Medshield did not authorise it as they want to investigate it see if it was a pre existing condition. So now he has to suffer for 48 hours with unbearable pain that is so bad he cant even walk until they done with the investigation which will show that he did not have this condition before I added him as a beneficiary yet his 3 month waiting period is over and no where did it state that because he is not yet on the medical aid for a year that if he has to be sent to the under writers to be authorised. This is totally unexceptable as I pay every month on time and I don’t abuse the medical aid.
