Typical 2-Faced Medical Aid

I called to confirm coverage for a pre-hospital admission Covid test and to establish if cover was only given to certain types of tests. I was blatantly **** to and told that every member gets one covered Covid test per year regardless of the type of test used.

When the test was claimed by Ampath, in true two-faced, back stabbing medical aid fashion, it was rejected with the allegation that the code used by Ampath is not covered, despite confirmation of cover for all codes.

Medshield is now slow-playing their "internal investigation" in the hope that I will get fed up with waiting for them and somehow find the money to pay for it myself. It has taken them more than a month to listen to the Phone call and hear the consultant confirm coverage for the test.

Subsequent follow up calls were made by myself on the following dates (costing ME money because they REFUSE to give me any feedback) 14 Dec 2021 7 Jan 2022 14 Jan 2022 20 Jan 2022 8 Feb 2022 10 Feb 2022

They seem to stop at NOTHING to avoid paying for medical requirements (which, if I am not wrong, are considered PMB and MUST, by law be covered)
