07 Mar 2025, 10:48Good day Medshield Medical Management
Referring to your previous correspondence, regarding upgrade to my medical plan, as suggested by you, i have during the course of early October 2024 sent in an application document for a plan change, not even being aware that plan changes towards December, i was informed by the consultant and also noticed that in error i chose the wrong plan, instead of choosing MediPlus Compact somehow a mistake occured and Medivalue downgrade Compact was chosen, i notified the consultant to cancel that request for the Medivalue option and i was informed to submit the document again during December, just to be clear i had no intent to upgrade my plan as a result of being or falling ill at that time as i was not even aware of any neck and spinal condition i might have, i purely opted to upgrade my plan as i was financially stable and i wanted the option to upgrade to Mediplus compact, on my current plan Medivalue Prime i never even took any notice or was aware that Spinal conditions were exclusions on my plan, i was only made aware of this yesterday 5 March 2025.
In the meantime i was under impression that option change was submitted and would be processed within time, it was not the case unfortunatly.
During mid January i started becoming ill with servere neck, back arm and leg pain, i could not function and i was unfortunatly incapacitad to work as i could hardly stand or sit as being in excruciating pain. I visited my GP and i explained what i was experiencing, and i was prescribed medications and injections to ease the pain, my GP informed me after examining me the first time it was a pinched nerve. I accepted his judgement. Pai got worse as time went and did not subside, i went back to my GP twice after the first and on the last visit my GP sent me for xrays, the results came back and the diagnoses was bad as you might be aware of, my GP reffered me to Specialist Dr A Shazad for further intervention, Dr Shazad admitted me and Ordered MRI and Tests, the results as you are aware of is the obvious on the findings, No alternative medications help me, after taking medication drugs for months, Dr Shazad recomended Surgery as the only option as medication drugs was not effective.
The outcome of the pre Authorization with motivation and test results and findings were sent to the spinal team for review but to my dismay was denied as plan exclusions.
Please help and assist for a review or as suggested plan upgrade, my condition us serverely affecting my health and the fact that i am at this time incapacitated not being able to work as i can hardly hold my neck up or sit or walk, the use of my leg and arm barely.
Thank you kindly for taking the time to consider
