This medical aid is easy to take your money, but does not care for their ill members !
Today my wife went to see the doctor. He immediately wanted her to be admitted to hospital for bronchopneumonia, difficulty breathing and severe pain in her lungs gave the referral letter and all. Upon arriving and them phoning the medical aid for authorization, they refused to give authorization, stating that my wife must first go for blood tests and x rays first. After being on the phone with them on numerous calls for about 2 hours all together, after putting the phone down in our ears a few times, I eventually asked who wants that done, as the doctor wants her admitted, they said their "health advisors" requested that, to which I asked if the health advisors are doctors, they stated "some of them".... I did tell them over the phone I will be taking this as far as I can, and this is only the start !
Its an epic battle to get my wife admitted to hospital, and I WILL keep Medshield responsible for ANY health issues my wife will occur from this ! I am going to find a malpractice lawyer, and I will be taking this further. I WILL tell EVERYONE I know about their "service" and patient protocol.

I will strive to show everyone what Medshield feels for their "CUSTOMERS", not members ! I will ensure that they will stay responsible for my wife and in future, for any complications as a result of this.

After phoning them today again, they insist the doctor will not be paid, after they gave the go ahead. Speaking to the consultant (Cedric, who was great) he heard my wifes chest and and said she sounds bad, trying to help get her admitted to hospital. They still refuse as the want blood tests and X rays.... WHY NOT DO THAT IN HOSPITAL ? BECAUSE THEY DONT WANT TO OCCURE THE COSTS ????? Medshield, I am taking this further ! on 3 cases !!!!
