*****ing from people

my grandmother is a member for many years. however i pick up that they are not paying for claimes from the right account chrionic treatment is being paid for by day to day my grand mother has athma and hypertension she need appliances for this condition yet they only approve 750 for the benefit the bp monitor and the nebulizer is quoted at R1800 FURTHER MORE THERE TURN AROUND TIME ON VARIOUS QUESTIONS ARE A LIFETIME. THEY SEEM SO LIKE DEPLETING MEMBERS DAY TO DAY ACCOUNTS. THE LIMIT MEDICATION NON PMB NEEDS TO BE EXPLAINED PROPERLY CAUSE CONSULTANTS DONT KNOW HOW TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. THEY HAVE DETAL PROTOCOLS THAT ARE NOT DISPLAYED ON THE BROCHURE THINGS THAT ARE IMPORTANT.

MEDSHIELD IS A GOOD SCHEME BUT THE ADMINSTRATORS ARE ILL UNFORMED AND UN EDUCATED

Good day

Kindly note as per your chosen option, in the MediPlus brochure on page 6 it states:

“Peak Flow Meters, Nebulizers, Glucometers and Blood Pressure Monitors are subject to R750 per beneficiary per annum, which is also subject to Appliance Limit of R 7490.00.”

Kindly note, the scheme’s turn-around time on queries is 5 working days. Majority of the queries are resolved within 2 working days.

Please note, even though the members condition maybe PMB, not all treatment and medications are PMB level of care, hence would be paid from normal benefits. All medications that are registered with the scheme as Chronic will be funded from the Chronic Medicine benefit.

With reference to the dental protocols, not all information can be provided in the brochures, hence it is advisable to call the scheme prior to treatment.

We trust you find the above in order.

Yours sincerely,

Medshield
