Standing ovation for idots
Okay, let's take a second to congratulate Medshield for its lack of clear communication, nonsensical policies, as well as poor customer service.
1. I try to change my debit order date as my job circumstances have changed, but Medshield will only allow for this once I can prove that my payment date has changed.
QUESTION: How do you prove you will no longer receive money on a future dated time?
2. Okay so Medshield asks for a new contract stipulating that you will only get paid on a future dated time, therefore will not have funds prior that.
QUESTION: How do you prove this when you are your own boss, claiming from medical aids, especially without a statement showing this as it has not already happened?
What is most frustrating is that all of this communication was not clear until Phandi Mabuza took a very frustrated call from me and explained that the debit order could not be changed unless I had a statement or contract that showed I only received funds during the middle of the month.
Moreover, the response time for queries is so slow. In addition, the first time I called in to inquire about the debit order change I was informed to write a motivational letter of why I required a debit date change (because I was in private practice) and to attach a three months banking statement, exact details of the rules around the statements in themselves proving I was not getting money paid in on the 1st were vague.
So Medshield as a customer who cannot prove when I am getting paid, I am not allowed to change my debit order to the middle of the month even though I have been paying my premiums for 7 months in a row; even when I have written a motivational letter for why this is needed and can prove details of when medical aids payout or when I expect to have the most funds in my account? Even if I can prove I no longer work for health government and will not be paid at the end of the month? This all would also have been okay had rules communicated clearly the first time I spoke to an agent regarding a debit order change indicated this CLEARLY, but they didn't.
Please, Medshield do better!!!
