Non payment of pre-authorised hospital claim

I had preauthorisation for a dental surgery in September. To date Medshield says they have not received the claim from the hospital - yet the hospital has reference numbers. Further to that I went for a consultation at Dischem (which they supposedly cover) but now suddenly ONLY from Dischem they don't. Perfect timing for this though, switching to a different medical aid now.
