No refund

According to the medical aid scheme rules no member should belong to more that one medical aid but it so happened that I added my husband as a dependant on my medical aid and he was on waiting period still when we discovered that at his work he was joined on Discovery. He does not even have a card or member number for Discovery and this was not showing on his payslip until he got an IRP5.<br> <br> I called my medical aid Medshield to cancel but I was informed I wont get a refund even though he is on waiting period. Worst part is that even though I cancelled today they are still going to deduct from my salary as our payment have gone for the month and they are not going to refund.<br> <br> Shouldn't medical aids have some kind of validation system that they use also on their side to check this? On my side I didn't know but why are they not refunding my payments whereas he never used the medical aid?
