Medshield undermines and insults medical practitioners.

I went to see a specialist/surgeon, the fee for the surgeons consultation is R1200. Note, I have gap cover so whatever the difference is between the invoice from the surgeon and the scheme rate is covered by my gap cover. I get an email from my medical aid, that they have paid this man R477.00 as their scheme rate, and this rate is the same on all of their packages. I asked phoned and asked and the agent says throughout SA this is normal. Where in your right mind, can you tell a customer, paying thousands a month, that it is okay, to pay man who studied half his life to be titled DR, the same guy that cuts people open and fixes them, R477.00 because you think that is a normal scheme rate. I am writing this review because people need to see. This is probably the single most insulting thing in business I have seen to date. How absolutely disgusting. I would have understood a shortfall, but a R700 difference between the surgeons invoice and your scheme rate is a slap in the face and you should be ashamed of yourself for even trying to justify that nonsense. I phoned competitors and told them, and they LAUGHED at you! sies man!
