Medshield - pre-authorisation (Shocking service)

Absolutely dumbstruck with the quality of service I received with regards to my pre-authorisation for my c/section with Medshield.

I app**** for pre-authorisation in January 2021 for my c/section for 15 February. From day 1 I struggled with Medshield and their Pre-authorisation department.

I had to phone to rectify an incorrect date they placed on my authorization. Spoke to a lady and said they will rectify it and I will receive an email with 48 hours.... I did not receive correspondence. I phoned again and spoke to another lady and said that her supervisor will rectify my date, I will receive correspondence.

I received correspondence but AGAIN with the incorrect date. I have emailed and emailed and eventually they changed it to my correct date and I have proof of email documentation, received on 28 January 2021 with authorization number.

Now that I had my c/section, a week later they send me a new authorization and notifying me that there will be a 20% penalty fee due because the authorization took place after procedure date.

I cannot fathom the pathetic service, now I am penalized because the pre-authorisation depart cannot do their job.

I will not be held liable for poor service as I followed all the correct steps to ensure everything is in place before my procedure.
