Medshield never pays fully for anything including blood tests, scans and necessary operations

We have been with medshield on 2different types of covers, both expensive but none pays any better. When you have to do blood tests, they don't pay. When you do an operation, they don't pay all the money. They pay about 40%. To take a 3 year old to a Ped, you must go to a GP first for a referral. Recently my wife miscarried and 2months later, they required a motivation as to why her stay in hospital had to be paid for. A year ago, she had to take out galstones and we had a bill of over R9000 to pay after that. Medical bills keep coming because they don't actually pay for anything while we pay over R5000 monthly. They are bad whether you choose a cheaper or more expensive cover. Prescription medicine is also not paid for, at least most of them. You need referrals to visit any specialist. Why would you go to a Gp first if you have a toothache? They are a waste of money.
