Medshield medical scheme is the worst medical aid to have if you value your health ..
If you love And value your value and your own health Medshield will be your worst nightmare ,you will end up working to pay medical bills for asking as you are with Medshield medical aid , i am 1 person on a premium of R5000 a month and I'm still having to pay for 90% out of pocket because Medshields scheme rules and benifits is structured in such a way that you are not able to get any service without paying iether half or 70-90%of the bill out of pocket because as they tell you simply that it is not their problem because they don't make the rules, and if you not happy call client services and then they put the phone down in your ear ,or they will keep quiet on the other side untill your phone dies..when they don't know what to say to you they send you from one department to the other you literally spend hours on the medical trying to get anything done, you have to constantly call because if you don't nothing will be done .. because like one of there Supervisors Amanda in Authorization department say, She doesn't make the rules and she doesn't know what to say so she's going to put the phone down and still says buy in a mocking way and then sends a voicenote right after saying there was a system error like she said if I'm not happy with the scheme rules I must phone client services this is now to try and cover up for the fact that she just put the phone down in your ears and saying it was a system error..That's the service , wether you need service for Health issues that affects your life if you don't have the money it's not their problem , they don't make the rules, if you need an appliance which your life may be dependent on if you don't have thousands of rands ,it's not their problem, There is so many things you have to pay out of pocket that it makes it impossible to cope with medical bills because they don't even cover half the amount and this includes chronic medications so think carefully before you decide on Medshield because If a premium of R5000 can't even cover 1 person what's going to happen to you if you are covering a family..your premium is higher but the family limit stays the same..So Medshield says that they're ok with you dying because there scheme rules don't make provision if you are not financially able to keep paying for your own service..Your health is not something you predict or plan but to them theyre scheme rules are more important that what you or your family of health needs are..needing a machine to help you breath and your potential to die without it ..means nothing to them , theyre ok with that , because their scheme rules is set wether you die or not..so choose a medical aid that actually cares about your your well being and not just their scheme rules
