Medshield medical aid appoling service

I am beyond angry with Medshield medical aid. They approved a pre hospital authorisation for my daughter to do a colonoscopy. They only paid about 40% of the hospital bills citing "above scheme rates." I am sitting here with huge amounts of bills that I have to settle. I wrote them an email requesting a review on payments and was again told about the "above scheme rates". Why did they approve the pre-authorisation? As if thats not enough, I had to pay a consultation fee of R2200 and have requested a refund on the 11 Dec 2023. To date they have not responded to my request. What am I really paying for, day to day benefits only?
