Medshield disgrace

I am saddened to have to write this but unfort i have been left with NO choice. I have been with medshield almost 3 yrs now. I declared having a pre existing neck degeneration disease. I waited the 12month waiting period to have a rhizotomy done last yr Jan. Then physio etc to try manage pain an worstening. Sadly it failed. They then made neck surgery excluded unless PMB for 2019. 4months ago i started experiencing even more severe pain radiating down arms an left leg causing my leg to give in often. 70% loss of strength down left side of my body. Im a single mom and a Rep i NEED my health an no one ever asks for health to "go down the drain". Saw my neuro again did mri to find horrible results that we NEVER expected to see so sooon an so young. Extra bone growths (osteophytes) some trapping the exit foramen where nerves pass thru. More "severity" of disc herniation from the DDD disease and only 0.7mm space left at cervical spine. Normal neck range is 12 to 18mm. This compression obv caused the weakness an loss of strength. Dr said he has to do a ACF asap due to the severity an rate of degeneration if left high chance of myelopathy an perm nerve damage. submitted all to med aid incl letter from dr they FLAT LINE declined all. They refused to even pay the 2 day hosp stay. They also took their time to tell me this putting me under HUGE pressure as the op had to be done the 9th sept as dr is away from 20th an fully booked remaining 2019. I have emailed an phoned medshield begging them for answers....nothing. they say they wont pay as its not PMB. But PMB across the board in SA for med aids is degenerative disc disease or spine compression. They declined sayin theres no spinal compression BUT on the mri image dr measured an showed me my spine space is 0.7mm left an he stated this to them ....HOW IS THIS NOT PMB OR NOT COMPRESSION???? Its as if u want a person almost dead or paralysed before ull think or helping. Ur so called "wanting to prevent than cure" is utter *******. I am most DISGUSTED with medshield an their service.
