Medishield Medical *******

Last year September I joined Medishield, I was told that my medical aid would cover me after the 3 months probationary period. I stated to the consultant assisting me that I had chronic asthma and was previously on my mother's medical aid. My asthma got worse and I had to see a pulmonologist, he referred me for a ct scan. When I went to the radiologist I was told that Medishield would not cover anything related to my asthma for up to year. Which was never mentioned to me. I've now had to pay close to R8 000 out of my own pocket. It's bad enough that I've been paying R1 500 every month for my medication. Medishield truely does not care about the health and well-being of it's members. I'm now left out of pocket, with no money to register for my MSc.
