Medhsield medical Aid is a LYING, THIEVING group.

Last month my wife was very ill, our house doctor wasn't available so I phoned for auth to go see another doctor. After them requesting the Dr's name, they said we can go and visit the doctor, as we have 5 out visits per year. (AFTER 2 DAYS OF FIGHTING) my wife was admitted, after I had to doctor her at home. They blamed the hospital for lying.

After my wife was discharged the doctor informed us that the medical aid didn't pay them as yet. so I phoned them and they said its a doctor not on the plan.

Today 08/11/22 at 14:25 I phoned them yet again and spoke to Thandi who was very rude from answering the phone, in this regard and they still state they didn't lie. They can go and listen to their recordings for that day.

I also informed about blood tests that was not paid, and that they requested a "MOTIVATIONAL LETTER" from the doctor. After stating that my wife was in hospital how should she have done that, they tell me we can request one from the doctor. I asked if they are going to pay for the letter should the doctor ask for payment, they said NO....

I again phoned at 14:45 and spoke to Ashley whom gave me the same story.

Medshield lies to you face, and will think of every excuse to refuse to make payments. They are fast to take your money, but when they need to do their part, there is always excuses.

I will be giving them (Medshield) till Friday 11/11/2022 to pay these or I will take them to the medical aid board.
