MedShield is ridiculous. I requested an online quotation. The consultant called me asked me a few questions and then requested a copy of my ID and bank statement. Within a day I was made a member and a debit order was created without me signing a single document or anyone calling to explain the specifications of my plan. I emailed to cancel the membership (which I had not agreed to) to prevent the debit order from going through. Medshield contacted me and said that I needed to cancel 5-7 days before the debit order date. The debit order email was only sent 5 days before cancellation. How it was possible for me to cancel 5-7 days before debit order I have no idea. They still intend to debit R1700 from my account tomorrow without a signed agreement and without having used the service at all. THIS IS A ****.
