N1 City Government Hospital

On the 27/06/2016 I rushed my wife into the emergency at N1 city. My wife was in excruciating pain. We arrived at 12:00 looked for parking (no parking could be found for fifteen minutes) and finally put down her name on a list at 12:15. The list system seems a bit atchaic but neverless there we waited until the triage guy took her blood pressure etc.... Then we got a sheet of paper which coded my wifes situation a yellow (overide). Which means you will be helped within 45mins! The 45mins lapsed and finally we were directed to a small cubicle where a nurse questioned us about her situation which we answered and advised her that the pain level my wife was experiencing was a 9 out of 10, Six Weeks Pregnant and its probably a micarriage which she noted. Then the nurse looked up and casually said that there are no beds available for my wife!! Which meant that she will not be seen until there was a bed available we left at 01:30pm. The emergency room packed to the rafters at this stage and all those unsuspecting people not knowing that they would not be seen!!!!!! Then the doctor on duty decideds to take lunch? Nurses walking around aimlessly with no plan of action ? Is this what it feels like to go to a government hospital? We left the government hospital and drove all the way to City Park Hospital. Once we arrived at City Park before the admin was completed which I was doing the doctor on duty could see the pain my wife was in and immediately started to help her!!! At this stage there was too much blood!!!! The doctor on duty contacted my wifes gynae and he advised us to see Doctor Bennecke who immediately booked her into theatre because there was no time to play around and she had the op and on the mends!!!!! Chalk and Cheese between the two hospitals!!!Netcare should not associated their name with N1 city Hospital!!!!This reminds me of the horror stories we read about in government hospitals where people are turned away and because they were not helped they die!!!!! I pay R5000 a month for medical aid which is with Medshield and i will not be told where to go and which hospital to use because if this is what medshield is offering me, I will not be a client with them for much longer!!!!! I am disgusted at the level of non existing service at this government hospital!!! I am not the only because while sitting at the government hospital people were complaining because they were not seen yet and have been sitting there for more than two hours!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone tried to fix this? Get more Beds? Get more Doctors on Duty? Expand the Emergency section? This Could not have been the first time this has happend? Is everybody at N1 walking around with their eyes closed? Or is it about making money and to hell with patients?

I WILL NEVER EVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL AGAIN AND WILL ADVISE WHO EVER I MEET TO STAY CLEAR BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT BE HELPED!!!
