DO NOT JOIN THIS MEDICAL AID

The absolute worst customer service ever! On May 15, 2025 I had an accident and was admitted for emergency surgery on my left thumb. Medshield refused to pay any of the medical bills because of a pre-existing condition, which was on my right wrist. After submitting a formal complain via email querying the rejected surgery on my left hand while it was my right hand that was excluded. The only explanation I keep getting is that I am on a waiting period for pre-existing conditions. Every time I call Medshield and query about my complains, the person working with my complaint is not available or the line is cut off. I have never missed a member contribution and yet I still had to pay all of my medical bills, including the hospital out of my own pocket. What ever you do, do not join this medical aid!
