DO NOT GET MEDSHEILD MEDICAL AID!

I have been with Medshield for may years but this past year my opinion on this medical aid has really changed! I find the service has become pathetic and non on the consultants who work at the call centre seem to enjoy their jobs. I am currently pregnant, have been calling their call centre to find out if I could be given a list of registered birthing units and was told that this was not covered EVEN THOUGH THIS IS SPECIFICALLY STATED IN MY POLICY DOCS AND THE BROCHURE FOR MY PLAN! They are so unwilling to assist or better themselves, I am now required to search the entire internet, find all of the registered birthing facilities under the sun and call Medshield to check if they would cover these birthing facilities, of which I ma sure I will get a negative answer for each of them! How pathetic is it that Medshield expects their paying members to go through all of this admin when this information should be readily available seeing that YOU created a network for registered birthing units for US to use, at least give us a list of these birthing units you will allow us to use!! I am so frustrated with the service, and this comes from being put on hold for almost 10 minutes by one of your customer service agents and eventually dropping the call! So calling you guys is basically a waste of my money and time. I am strongly considering moving from Medshield to another medical, I am utterly disappointed!
