Disgusting Service

I joined Medshield on the basis of the brochure which is how they advertise their products. On the brochure my optical limit is R1 550 per beneficiery every 2 years. It then continues to list the optical products that are SUBJECT TO OPTICAL LIMIT. When I went to the optometrist to replace my lenses in my spectacles and order more contact lenses, only the contact lenses were paid out. I called countless people at Medshield, half saying that they only cover EITHER contacts OR spectacles and the others saying both were covered subject to the optical limit which was more than enough to cover both. (It seems no one actually did any training on the products they offer). Then I was told by a lady called Petunia that the brochure is just a summary and that it is clarified under the "Subject to relevant Optometry Managed Healthcare Programme and Protocols" on the brochure. BUT WHEN I JOINED MEDSHIELD THESE "PROTOCOLS" WERE NOT GIVEN TO ME and clearly doesn't state anything about only covering either/or. I am disgusted with the service of the call centre and Medshield as a provider.
