Disgusting attitude from Medshield

Its with a heavy heart that I write this. I am a member with Medshield for 9 months now and yesterday I was in severe pain, shortness of breath and sharp shotting pians around my kidneys and lower back. I sat from 11h30am until 6pm in the casualty unit in Alballito Hospital and Medshield refused to admit me. A day later and I am experiencing excruciating pain and still when I call for authorization I get told your case is pending. I wonder if I will receive the authorization once I'm dead as that is how seriously in pain I am in. Totally disgusted and shocked at how they treat their members. I used up R150 in airtime today only trying to call and get answers. I was with Discovery for over 12 years and had absolutely no problems if me or my kids needed admission but Medshield is on a whole other level. It seems we pay monthly for nothing because when we need to be admitted they need to 3 to 5 days to apparently review the case.
