Disapointed

To whom it may concern , my name is Abby Phala and am honestly not pleased with my medical aid ,@MedSheild which I have been on since January 2018.

Firstly I will give a compressed back round story of my journey with my health specifically my bones. I was diagnosed with AVN in 2019 for both hips, I went for hip replacement operations which the medical aid paid in full.

In 2021, i was diagnosed with AVN on both shoulders which were in a very bad state and needed to replaced instantly.

January 2022, i underwent an operation on the left shoulder. Upon recovery state, i was alerted that the medical aid will only pay 30% of the total cost.

7 weeks later , which is today 10 March 2022. I enquired with the medical aid as i was booked for operation for the left shoulder on Saturday the 12th of March 2022, i was then told that my medical aid plan does not cover bone replacements at all.

The medical plan i am currently on is the same one I've been on since 2018. Hence @Medshield was able to pay for the hip replacement and right shoulder replacement without any hesitation.

I am frustrated because the shoulder might collapse at any given time. If this procedure delays, i might never work again in my life.
