Authorization
My mum has been in hospital 3 months and we as the family was given 2 options to proceed with her future care. Home nursing or subacute care . Her case manager reiterated the choice needed to be made asap or face the possibility of public health care.
So we chose home nursing. The necessary parties have reviewed my mum and the required codes and quotations sent to management for authorisation.
It has since been 2 weeks of no results. Very frustrating. Ironical that we were pushed for an answer yet Medshield delays with authorization...

Medshield Medical Scheme has acknowledged your hello peter complaint and would like to thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.
Kindly be advised, your complaint was discussed with our Clinical Risk Department, who advised, this case will be reviewed as a special case.
It should be noted, the next meeting for special cases is on the 21/06/2018 (this Thursday). In order for your case to be reviewed at this meeting, the special case application form that was emailed to yourself for completion by yourself / doctor needs to be returned to the scheme with the necessary documents.
Completed form with documents to be emailed to *** for review.
