Authorization

On the 30th Nov, my mother was treated at Tshepo Themba Hospital. I was asked to ask my Mother's private doctor to fill in a PMA form before some investigations could be done, which worsened her condition.. In the meantime my mother was then admitted in the same hospital. Continuous communication went on between Lorraine, myself and Dr Maduna. Subsequently the scan was done.<br> I have received numerous emails from Medshield, some paid, some not paid. <br> Medshield was aware that my mother was admitted in hospital, whilst some communication was taking place between Lorraine and the treating doctor. Today I got a call from the hospital telling me that I must pay for my mother's admission.<br> There was no indication of non authorization of hospitalization. When I added my mother on my medical aid, I was penalized for late admission, she was given 3 month waiting period. When she got sick I was humiliated by being sent to her doctor for filling of PMA form, even though when she joined a full medical history form was filled in by Dr Machiri on the 05/05/2015. I have been with Medshield for 14 years, without abusing my funds, today they treat me like dirt. Never have defaulted on my subscription
