Already unhappy with Medshield

I recently put through an application to join Medshield Medical Aid. I was told that I was put on a 3 month waiting period.

I don't understand why and noone can seem to provide me with clarity. I am currently on Discovery Health medical aid, my last day with Discovery is 31 Dec 2022. I will be joining Medshield on 01 Jan 2023.

Why would I be put on a waiting period?

When do waiting periods apply? Waiting periods generally apply if: You or your dependants were not on a medical aid for a period of at least 90 days before you joined Medshield; you have never been a member of a medical aid. The scheme also looks at whether there are conditions stipulated on the application form or not, and the length of time on their previous medical aid (2 years or more, or 2 years or less) to ascertain the type of waiting periods that will apply.
