AFTER ACCIDENT DOES NOT AUTH FOR OPPERATION ON MY SON

My son broke a bone in his foot which carries the leg bone, on the evening of 26th July at our new home as an accident. We took him to the emergency ward Friday as it looked more serious than the evening before. Turns out it has been broken and there is bone fragments also from the break. How ever the swelling was so severe the Specialist on call said he has to wait for the swelling to go down to do a repair operation and take out the bone fragments. He explained that if the blood flow to this bone stop then the whole bone needs to be replaced. Now he can do the repair with *****s and plate. To our dismay Friday 2 Aug when the specilist room asked for auth the medical aid turned it down as it happened in the first month of cover, however we have been paying since April 2024 during the waiting period of 3 months. THIS WAS AN ACCIDENT. NOT A PROCEDURE!!!! Now they first want 12 months GP medical information of my son and a letter of motivation before they will considder to give auth. Wr have NOTHING to hide. This is my sons first bone break ever, he never even sprayned his ankles!!!!! My son is in severe pain! If this matter is not resolved and auth given Monday 5 Aug in the morning and anything worse happenes to my son, as the specialist explained that if he does not look after his foot in the future he can loose it. We will take this matter further. I will also confirm with the Medical Ombudsman if a medical aid is allowed to do this misconduct. My son is 19 Years old. Still a student with sober habbits. Does not drink or smoke!! He is 1.94m tall and needs his foot to work properly. He has his whole life ahead of him, if the bone fragments go into his body system and poison him and he dies you MUST KNOW WE WILL NOT LEAVE THIS MATTER!!
