Putting members health at risk by withholding chronic medication

On 6 oct I was informed by pharmacy direct that I would have to pay for my chronic medication due to the fact Bonitas has suspend my medical aid as of the 1 Sep. 9th Oct After attempting to call and not being able to get though due to being on the MTN network . I then contacted the JHB number at 13:05 being on hold for a while waiting to speak to a consultant. I was then informed that due to a purchase at Dischem on 12 APRIL 2012 ! I owe the scheme R3000.00 How is this even possible that dischem will not allow you to proceed to the till without confirmation of payment from the scheme. Though not fault on my side I am being held hostage of my chronic medication which include medication such as pain management for my my RA as well as critical sleeping medication and antidepressants for my bipolar disorder. I spoke to Tabelo who refused to transfer me to a manager or supervisor after repeated requests your calls are recorded and I challenge you to listen to the call and determine if customer service was actually served. I was then promised that her team leader Palesa would call me before close of business. Not surprised that I am still waiting 3 days later for a call. I am utterly shocked that a medical aid is able to put their members at health risk in this manor. I have actually resorted to pay the amount owning and still spen 4 hours waiting on the chat option on the app from number 57 in que to chat to a consultant 3 hours later I was down to 17 in que and happened to press the back option and thus lost my place in que once again I challenge Bonitas to prove this is delivering customer service. I am now on 2 days without critical medication which has already begun to effect my emotions and ability to cope with day to day normal stress. If immediate action is not taken and my medication delivered before end of business tomorrow I am sending all my information in this matter to all related press outlets to expose the utter disregard for members health.
