Terrible treatment after 34 years as a member

I have been a Polmed member since 1984. Yes I am the person that worked as a Police Officer for all these years risking my life, being shot at and in the process getting severally injured. Part of my terms of employment is that the SAPS offer a medical scheme as part of my salary package. It is part of the monetary value of my earnings. My daughter is 21 and a full time student. I provided a letter under oath last year to Polmed that she is a dependent and living at home with me which she is. That is the policy rules nothing else. Then suddenly this month an additional R2015.00 over my normal contractions is debited off my account. If you are a police officer you will know on our salaries there is no extra R2015.00 in your account. Hence it bounced. I contacted Polmed immediately to find out why my contributions have suddenly increased without my knowledge or permission to debit my account for a different amount. I was informed that SAPS had changed there rules about dependents from 1 January 2021.and that my daughter would no longer be subsidised unless a student. That I had to provide an affidavit in that regard. I had never received any notification of this ever. Remembering that this medical scheme is legally part of my employment package which I have work for and am due. So a term of employment changes and this is legal? . Since when? I was told to send an affidavit stating my daughter is a student. In the interim as my wife is in the medical field and highly qualified in hospital billings and administration she asked me to find out why all three members where suspended though there was an issue just with my daughter and the contributions. I paid in the amount I normally pay to Polmed requesting that myself and my wife be reinstated ...but we were not. Why are all of us suspended????? No answe to date. If the scheme rules changed effectively meaning my terms of employment changed then why was I nor other members I know not informed accordingly. If I have paid in for my wife and myself pending my daughters new scheme policies paperwork being processed why are we suspended? Remembering Polmed I am the one that has risked my life and has a legally binding contract with SAPS not you. You are paid by us the members of the SAPS that work day and night defending you against crime. I pay Polmed for a service they are suppose to provide but they don’t. Least being to notify me of policy changes and give due notice for me to comply. My wife is chronically ill and to stop her spine from completely collapsing needs biologic drugs. She has a PMB condition. She has not had her due treatment risking her life because Polmed administrators decided she can die while they *******ly suspend us. My contribution has been paid I transferred my normal due amount and sent an email informing Polmed of the payment. One person through all this and multiple emails bothered to answer my numerous emails a lady by the Name of Elizabeth Coetzee. As my wife is without treatment I sent an email begging her to contact me to reinstate us because I was getting nowhere but guess what.... no reply to date. Still suspended. This is a horror story. My wife is in multiple organ failure has her spine disinter-grating due to no fault of hers but the clerks at Polmed have suspended her due to a policy changing that i was not informed about. When I was told they need an affidavit I sent it in the next day. I oath before God and man that my daughter is a full time student studying to be a performance pianist. She is dependent on me. She is studying through correspondence and spends 6 hours a day on her studies if she did not she would fail. Why must my wife suffer without treatment because *******ly the terms of my employment changed without me being consulted or notified. Furthermore how can money be debited off my account without me knowing or me giving consent. Polmed members when will this stop.???? When will the abuse we take as current active members and pensioner members stop????. We earn nothing but risk our lives daily ever time we put on our uniforms.....when pensioned you will be forgotten and with your little pension punished for having been dedicated and worked your life for SAPS. No one at Polmed will return my calls and emails ....when I do get through after 15 minutes they say they have no emails from me miraculously. Not one! My correspondence doesn’t exist! But they have my money in the bank and the governments portion is in there bank!!!!! Now I receive a message that my email is wrong they have no record of my email address .... what next. . The lies never stop while my wife’s life is being risked. How do I get this matter resolved and how do I get my wife her medication? 36 years on Polmed and this is what I have ..... no medical care for my family. The worst scheme in SA.
