CANCER PENSIONER'S SCAN/CHEMO CANCELLED BECAUSE "PROCEDURE" REQUIRES MOTIVATION

After following all rules & regulations, Polmed/Medscheme is unreasonably asking for a motivation (will cost member R980.00 to get from ICON - THEIR PREFERRED PROVIDER oncologist) as to why a pensioner with exixting heart-problems need to have a scan to see if her heart will be strong enough to handle chemo-therapy she has been receiving. NO CLINICAL REASON, BUT BECAUSE IT IS THEIR STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE? She can't afford to pay for this motivation and Friday's chemo and the booked scan for tomorrow (been trying to get authorisaction since MONDAY) now has to be cancelled. I don't know how you sleep at night - you are dealing with PEOPLE and are playing with their health, shame on you!
