Young doctor

Walked in to the consultation room to find a very young doctor behind his desk. He was to advise me on a possible ulcer and excruciating pain. He had no advice on diet and suggested I try sleep upright. Then sent me for blood tests and said we would decide on a way forward when the results came in. He prescribed what I had been using over the counter and I was out of his office in 3 minutes.

A week later and he didn't call, but this indeed, was not his fault as the medical files reclected an old number. So I updated the new number and the docter said that he would call as my file had been drawn again. He didn't call so the following day after work I called him.

He was clearly very upset and didn't want to discuss any further treatment as the blood tests returned negative. He said that he phoned me on my three numbers? So I contacted reception after he abruptly ended the conversation to check my number again...and indeed there was only one number and the right one.

Here is the deal. I paid premium cash for the consultation and premium cash for the blood tests as I am very concerned about my deteriorating health condition. Here I am a week later and all has come to nothing. The doctor in question was extremely rude and perhaps due to being a young doctor doesn't seem to grasp his responsibilities. Not at any moment did I raise my voice or even express unhappiness.

I feel that it is time these doctors get a wake up call. They are too high and mighty to take care in what they do. This doctor simply treats patients like cattle at an abattoir, one consultation fee at a time.

I will in future ask for a doctor's age (perhaps some life experience), to stand a chance of being treated as a fellow human being, and hell, maybe even find a solution to my problem.

Find a reputable general pratitioner folks, not some snot nose working a shift at an institution. (reception and other staff were helpfull and professional).
