Unacceptable service and invoice

Me and my wife have app**** for medical aid with Discovery.

We listed previous health issues as asked and they sent us some forms to fill in for those.

I also received a form asking for a cholesterol blood serum. I went to Medicross Roodepoort as it is a respected place which should have full knowledge of this.

I simply needed a cholesterol test done.

I had a huge fight with the sister behind the desk. I told her exactly what my broker said, that I could just go to a Dischem or Clicks. But apparently because it says “Fasting Blood Serum” it means that they have to draw blood and not just do a finger ***** test (which is what Dischem and Clicks does).

And also according to the sister the forms HAD to be filled in by a Doctor. I once again told her that it can’t be true but she insisted that she knows better. So she forced me to see a doctor for 20 seconds just to fill the forms in.

I also had to go back again because she insisted that “fasting” means not even drinking my chronic medication for depression and anxiety..

I don’t know what to do. I went to a place that’s trusted and supposed to deal with this type of stuff every day with the trust that they’ll help me correctly.

Discovery is willing to pay for the blood test only. Not the doctor’s visit.

The sister also took all my forms that I filled in that needed to be sent to the broker for all my other health history and insisted that Medicross HAS to send it to them, and NOT me. This also turns out NOT to be true.

I now have an invoice I cannot afford AND my broker doesn’t have any forms as suddenly no one at Medicross Roodepoort has any knowledge of the forms which I personally saw inside my file.

PLEASE ADVISE URGENTLY!!
