Terrible dental experience!
Hi
On Saturday, the 9th of June, I visited Medicross The Berg's dental unit. I was seen by the dentist 30 minutes after my appointment time. Dr Patel did xrays of my teeth and explained what needed to be done. I was only then informed that he doesn't do metal fillings. The broken tooth currently has a metal filling and Dr Patel advised that it would be best if a metal filling was used again. I should have been informed when I made the appointment that he doesn't do metal fillings. This is important information that should be told to the patient before an appointment is made and money is wasted!!
Dr Patel couldn't "fix" my tooth as I still had feeling in my mouth. Turns out that my mouth takes longer than others to lose feeling. In the end my tooth was not fixed as it was extremely painful when he tried to work there. i had no feeling on the left side of my mouth for 7 hours after the appointment.
I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with my visit to the dental unit. Not only is my dental benefit used up but I am still sitting with a broken tooth. i have just wasted time and benefits there and wish i went somewhere else where they are capable of assisting patients properly. I feel that is is EXTREMELY unfair that i had to pay (claim form medical aid) if the dentist was unable to do what he was supposed to do.
I want to be reimbursed for the money that was claimed from my medical aid.
Extremely disappointed and i will NEVER go there again!!!!
